Magdalena Niedzielska (Skowron) is a dancer, choreographer, teacher based in Poland. She graduated with Master’s Degree in Choreography and Dance Theory at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and Dance Pedagogy at the Academy of Humanities and Economics in Lodz. She participated in international program at Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company in Israel. Magdalena was a dancer of Elephant in the Black Box Junior Dance Company in Madrid. Currently collaborating with Krakow Dance Theatre, where she is working as a dancer, pedagogue and co-author of artistic and educational projects, with Variete Musical Theatre in Krakow and as a freelance choreographer. She received a Creative Stipend from the City of Krakow in 2019 and 2021 and a stipend of Minister of Culture and National Heritage of Poland in 2020.
Her works consist of performances such as "Humanimal" (with Natalia Dinges, Michał Przybyła, Piotr Skalski, Ozgur Ede), „an_na” (with Pamela Bosak), „More” (with cellist Paweł Czarakcziew), „My sadness is simply chemical in the nature” (with Adepts od Krakow Dance Theatre), „…is a cage” (with Mihir Grover), „Empty Full Empty” (with Wojciech Skowron). They were shown in events and programs such as „Portraits. Women in polish choreography” co-organized by the Institute of Music and Dance, „Women in Space” in Negative Gallery in Katowice, 22nd International Dance Theatre Meetings in Lublin, „Rollercoaster. The collectors of thrills” in Cricoteka, Krakow; Evening of Young Choreographers in Kibbutz Ga'aton in Israel, Night of Dance in Krakow. he has collaborated with choreographers such as: Ayrin Ersoz, Eryk Makohon, Idan Cohen, Jean Philippe Dury, Marco Blazquez, Eyal Dadon, Iwona Olszowska, Jarosław Staniek and Katarzyna Zielonka and performed in countries such as Poland, Turkey, Switzerland, Spain, Israel, Netherlands. She has also collaborated with theatre directors Agata Duda-Gracz and Jerzy Jan Połoński.
She conducts regular classes of contemporary dance in groups of Adepts of the Krakow Dance Theatre, as well as workshops for children and youth all over Poland. She is the co-author of the "Axiomotum" project, combining philosophy and dance improvisation for children. She honed her technique at many workshops all over Europe, including Summer School in Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London, Amsterdam Summer Intensive, workshops at Gibney and Peridance Capezio Center in New York. Privately she is an animal lover and an avid traveler.
